DIY Bottle Candles

So it’s the day before Thanksgiving, and my mind is set on being cozy, surrounded by family, and maybe a little candlelight…and wine, let’s be honest. So, when I caught a glimpse of this Wine Bottle Candle How-To (thanks to my addiction to Style Me Pretty) I immediately swooned. I mean, how romantic and intimate does this look?! It brings in simplicity, yet keeping everything soft and warm–everything you want for your fall and winter wedding, right, brides?

I know, I know, a DIY project sounds crazy to implement into wedding planning! Sometimes while planning your wedding, DIY projects can be a little intimdating. The image of the bride forcing her bridesmaids to sit down and work all day on tiny little arts-and-crafts till their fingers bleed comes rushing into your head. But DIY prjects shouldn’t be feared! They can be fun! (Trust me, from experience with my own wedding, DIY projects are a blast! Just sit down with a glass of wine, your favorite girlies and craft away till your little heart’s desire!)

Take a look below for step-by-step instructions:

Supplies:

  • clear wine bottles
  • hot glue
  • taper candles
  • knife
  • large pot with water

Steps:

  • Step 1: soak wine bottles in hot water to easily remove labels
  • Step 2: break taper candles to varrying heights
  • Step 3: glue candles into the neck of the wine bottles
  • Step 4: light the candles and let them burn to create a dramatic, finish

And that’s it, lovelies! Hopefully, this will be a fun DIY for you and your girlfriends to conquer. Come on, you have to collect wine bottles…which means you have to drink the wine first. How much more fun can you get? Hope this helps!

Happy Thanksgiving from us at The Terrace Club!

Cheers, Taylor
